Thomas Hartstang
Chief Marketing Officer

Masters degree in Industrial Engineering from TH Karlsruhe, Germany.

Thomas transitioned to EDS Electronic Data Systems, when General Motors acquired EDS in 1984/85. He was project manager to implement the new material forecasting IT-process of GM across Europe, became business manager for Porsche AG lateron. In the early 90's Thomas built the basis for the telecom + media industry segment of EDS Germany with the successful sale of several outsourcing contracts for billing services. After some European assignments, he took over the responsibility for the commercial industry business and almost all EDS Germany internal services as a member of the senior management team. From 1996 to 2000, Thomas was an independent business consultant in the IT- and telecommunication industry. During that time he was very much involved in projects with customers ranging from telecommunication infrastructure manufacturer to billing system provider and IT service firms.

Since the co-foundation in January 2000 Thomas had always a leading role to develop the company. With the recent progress B4E has made his focus lies in the further market and business development as the Chief Marketing Officer of B4E.


Erwin Heute
Chief Technology Officer

Masters degree in Computer Science from the RWTH Aachen/Germany.

Erwin started his career with DEC Projects and Consulting, mainly focussing on relational databases and software productivity tools. Finally he took part in the development of DPPS, the billing system for German mobile operator T-Mobil. After 11 years with DEC he worked as one of the first employees for LHS, the German maker of the billing software BSCS. He was deeply involved in the architectural work to create the billing software which has now more than 150 installations. Then Erwin worked for the US IT service provider CSC supporting the DPPS installation at T-Mobil. After that he spent 3 years as an independent consultant doing performance benchmarks for BSCS.
Another year followed with the installation of the BSCS billing system at E-Plus Mobilfunk in Germany, where Erwin has been requested by Oracle in order to tune the systems performance. Right before his co-foundation of B4E he again worked for LHS as the head of the next generation product group.

Erwin is widely regarded as a superior capacity regarding Oracle database performance improvements and billing related problem areas in general.


Fabio Peruzzi
Chief Architect

Masters degree in Computer Science from the University of Pisa/Italy.

Fabio started to work as a systems engineer for an Italian software company. Then he went to Germany to work for Bosch GmbH in the software development research area. Fabio changed to Rational Software Corporation as a consultant to teach and consult in the usage of object oriented analysis/design and software development process. After about 3 years Fabio went back to Bosch GmbH to lead the project team for design and implementation of a product line oriented software development process by the Bosch group until he became co-founder and chief architect at B4E. Fabio contributed to some standard literature in OO-analysis and -design and hold several speeches especially in the US about re-use oriented software development.


Reiner Rausch
Executive Director Professional Services

Degree in Economics from FH Würzburg.

Reiner started his career with Andersen Consulting (today: Accenture) in 1985 as a consultant in the telecommunications industry. He played leading roles in major projects implementing customer care and billing systems in Germany as well as in Eastern Europe. Then he became a senior manager at Andersen’s billing project with the largest German Operator. In early 1998, Reiner developed the billing architecture for SAP's telecom industry solution. In 1998 and 1999 he was with AMS AmericanManagement Systems as the transition manager for the new customer care + billing platform at the largest private operator in Germany. Since January 2000, Reiner is co-founder and the executive director professional services of B4E.
