Sooner or later, one way or the other, rating systems are going to come under real pressure in the world of value-added services. This means in turn, that the right rating system will present a key differentiator for the communication service provider. As B-oo-levard® is a very different approach to Rating and Billing compared to other billing systems known today – it is a real-time, event-based system with 100% object orientation and written completely in Java – this is why the processes and functionalities should be described in very different, more technological terms, such as robust architecture, encapsulation, business objects, re-use of software modules, and so on.

However, in order to compare B-oo-levard® to other systems we have put together this chart to substantiate that B-oo-levard® of course has all the typical business functions that are needed and discussed today – but as standard and integrated core functions within a very modern, integrated and sound system. Those functions – as they are configurable, which includes configuration of the business logic as well – may be used or not depending on specific business requirements.
